Morning Workout

Many wonder what time of the day is better for a workout session…this is totally specific to when you feel at your best.  There is, however, a slight metabolic advantage to working out first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, provided you have enough food/fuel from the day before to complete the session.   If you feel like you need some additional nutrients to make it through a training session first thing in the morning, eat a little protein and very few carbs or fat.  The protein will feed your working muscles while allowing your body to burn fat through the workout session.  Try a shake made of 30 grams of protein just before a morning workout!!

But bottom line, just make sure you do get a workout.  Time is of the essence!!

    I think that the most important consideration when choosing the time of day to workout is convinience as you are less likely to stick with it if you must wake up earlier because you have to workout

    I agree. It is better not to get stuck in the “only one way thing” and just fit it in where convenient. However, it is still a fact, it is slightly better to workout in the a.m.
