Motivation And Exercise
January 3, 2008
Mo-ti-vate!! Seems I have heard this word often as of late. Saying, “I lack motivation” or “I need motivation!”
The word motivate means “to stimulate to act by tapping in to strong emotions or desires!!” So if it means getting a friend to go with you or stepping on the scale to see the surprise to motivate you, then do it. But there are other ways to get going as well.
1) Change your mind, there is a big difference between “have to and want to.” Visualize your goal and then list 3-4 activities you enjoy that will help you to stay moving. Look at it as a lifelong change or healthy lifestyle versus I want to lose 20 pounds.
2) Make it an enjoyable experience, then you will adhere much better to your workouts and will more likely stay with it a lifetime.
3) If you don’t identify the issues preventing you from reaching your fitness goals, you won’t be able to get over them. Then try to find a way to get over each obstacle until you run out of excuses.
Isn’t that what all of it is anyway, EXCUSES????
